Directs activities of all maintenance and janitorial staff in areas of safety, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance of simple and complex equipment. Provides coordination between maintenance, production, engineering, shipping, warehouse, and management to facilitate minimum downtime and timely construction projects.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises assigned lead mechanics and support mechanics.
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of maintenance personnel.
- Coordinates with other departments and assures that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
- Maintains adherence to company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Maintains good team member relations and adherence to company policy, takes proper and judicious disciplinary actions when required, and handles first-step grievances.
- Communicates information and problems between maintenance shifts and management.
- Provides direction and technical support to mechanics for repair and installation of equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical, as well as PLC's, RS Logics Software and pc's.
- Provides additional support to mechanics in areas of fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, pipefitting, and machining.
- Assures that parts, materials, and supplies are ordered and received as required.
- Assures efficient and economical utilization of material, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
- Assures that records of departmental activities are kept as required.
- Implements training and skill improvements of all mechanics.
- Schedules overtime as required.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
